It will be critical eventually to set up monitoring services tracking errors / logs and also performance and other metrics. This should be declaratively configured to match the services enabled on the machine.

This won't be useful until we have something basic set up, but we also shouldn't leave it until the last step. A lot of other things will be easier when we have more visibility into what's going on.
